William G Gillespie
Pleasure
An autumn night
with you and I
am in its thrum,
for days. Attuned
like crickets
to your right small
eye and the ease
of dawn. A monarch
butterfly stabs in a street-
light, north then south.
The clock on the wall stops
ticking. It is nice
to get up
and turn off the light.
