Cold Dark Matter
Thanks to you I am learning to see again
through a sparseness of particles—
like how I learned to listen
to an eyelid twitch yes and no through a coma.
Darkness I’ve come to realise is a privilege—
known at 4am & sleepless
the sun rising like a scalpel
& turning the room purple.
Somehow, we go on & somehow it never ends
& we go on like a double pendulum.
Perhaps love is like this fixed explosion.
Perhaps you’re nearer now than the word belief.
